1947 Signed gelatin silver print by Louis Stettner. The image is 16 5/8” x 13 1/8” on semigloss photographic paper, 19 ¼” x 16”, signed and inscribed on verso in graphite “Aubervilliers 1947, Louis Stettner.” Printed by Stettner at a later date. Stettner poetically frames two youthful stoics staring at the viewer while their blurry (and busy) maman calls to them. In the distance the smokestacks and electrical transformers speak to the post war topography of this industrial suburb of Paris.
